MUST HAVES: - Authorized to work in the US on W2 | Bachelor's & 5-7+ years of experience

- Ability to help organize project schedule and ensure projects are adhering to timelines

Research IT Program ManagerWe are seeking a Research IT Program Manager to lead complex technology initiatives supporting research and education within an academic medical center. This role requires full ownership of programs - not just tracking milestones, but actively driving execution, accountability, and results across cross-functional teams.
The Program Manager will partner closely with Research Computing, Infrastructure, Networking, Data Center Operations, Global Risk & Compliance, and Cybersecurity Engineering to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. A key focus of this role is enabling research environments that meet regulatory requirements, including NIST 800-171 and HIPAA, particularly for sensitive data such as CUI and PHI.
Key Responsibilities- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of IT programs aligned with research and academic priorities
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams, removing obstacles and ensuring accountability
- Ensure solutions meet security and compliance standards (NIST 800-171, HIPAA, institutional policies)
- Provide clear communication and decision support to stakeholders and leadership
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional teams (research computing, networking, compliance, consulting partners).
- Ensure documentation standards are met, collaborating with internal compliance and external consultants.
- Support broader program management for redesigning School of Medicine cybersecurity processes, including device management, network access control, and security awareness training.
- Break down high-level roadmaps into actionable work plans and track progress.
Required Qualifications- 5-7+ years of project management experience in IT, preferably in research, healthcare, or academic environments.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 or similar security/compliance frameworks.
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Experience coordinating with technical teams and external partners.
- Ability to work remotely; preference for candidates in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland
