KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Governance • Define and own the multi-year North Star enterprise architecture roadmap for Colibri’s GTM platform ecosystem, spanning CRM, integration, data, commerce, marketing, and cloud infrastructure. • Establish and chair the Architecture Review Board (ARB); govern architectural decisions, technical standards, and guardrails across all business units and brands. • Develop reusable reference architectures, patterns, and platform blueprints that apply consistently across Colibri’s portfolio. • Translate executive vision and business strategy into executable, multi-year platform roadmaps — maintaining the balance between velocity and architectural integrity. • Apply enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent) pragmatically to shape governance without becoming a bottleneck to delivery. 2. Salesforce Platform Architecture • Serve as the technical authority for the full Salesforce ecosystem: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud (B2C/B2B), Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Agentforce. • Architect complex cross-cloud solutions including lead-to-revenue, order-to-cash, case-to-resolution, identity resolution, and consent and preference management. • Own Salesforce org strategy, data model design, security and sharing architecture, and multi-org governance. • Lead technical design reviews and code reviews; establish Salesforce development standards covering Apex, LWC, Flow, OmniStudio, APIs, and managed packages. • Drive technical debt remediation, platform health reviews, and continuous architectural improvement across all Salesforce clouds. 3. Enterprise Integration & API Strategy • Design and govern the enterprise integration architecture using Boomi (preferred), MuleSoft, or a comparable iPaaS platform at scale. • Establish API-first and event-driven integration standards: API design, versioning, lifecycle management, error handling, observability, and rate limiting. • Define reusable integration patterns (pub/sub, CDC, REST/SOAP, ETL/ELT, streaming) and a shared middleware services layer consumed across clouds and applications. • Integrate Salesforce with ERP, LMS, fintech, payments, data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks), and third-party SaaS platforms. • Own the integration governance model: connectors library, API catalog, developer portal, and runtime monitoring strategy. 4. SaaS Platform Architecture, Scalability & Resilience • Evaluate, rationalize, and govern the broader SaaS platform portfolio — ensuring every tool earns its place in the ecosystem and integrates cleanly with the rest. • Design for scalability, high availability, and multi-tenancy across all SaaS platforms supporting Colibri’s growth trajectory. • Define archiving strategy, data retention policies, and backup and restore frameworks across the full platform ecosystem. • Establish observability and platform health standards: monitoring, alerting, SLA definitions, incident response playbooks, and capacity planning. • Lead vendor evaluation and selection for new platforms, assessing architectural fit, total cost of ownership, and strategic alignment. 5. Security, Compliance & Identity Architecture • Own the enterprise security architecture across the GTM platform stack: identity and access management, SSO/SAML/OAuth, RBAC, data encryption, and zero-trust principles. • Define security standards for API authentication, data-in-transit and data-at-rest protection, secrets management, and vulnerability management. • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations (SOC 2, GDPR, FERPA, CCPA, or applicable industry standards) through architectural controls embedded in the platform. • Partner with InfoSec and Legal to conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for new platforms and integrations. • Define and enforce data privacy architecture: consent management, PII handling, data lineage, and right-to-erasure workflows. 6. DevOps, Release Engineering & Testing Architecture • Establish CI/CD pipelines, source control strategy, sandbox governance, and release management practices for the Salesforce ecosystem and the broader platform stack. • Define a comprehensive testing architecture: unit, integration, regression, performance/load testing, and end-to-end environment management. • Drive DevOps maturity: infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments, feature flagging, blue-green deployments, and rollback strategies. • Govern release planning cadences, change advisory processes, and production deployment standards across all platforms. • Own tooling strategy for DevOps and release engineering (GitHub, Flosum, Copado, or equivalent); ensure tooling scales with team and platform growth. 7. AI, Emerging Technology & Innovation • Champion the adoption of AI and automation across the GTM platform: Einstein AI, Agentforce, GenAI-powered copilots, and predictive analytics. • Identify, evaluate, and pilot AI use cases including intelligent service automation, lead scoring, personalized learning journeys, dynamic content generation, and next-best-action decisioning. • Embed AI tools into the engineering workflow — from code generation and documentation to testing, incident response, and architectural analysis. • Foster a 10X engineering culture: challenge teams to find exponential levers, automate aggressively, and deliver outsized value with focused effort. • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies (agentic AI, multi-modal models, vector databases, streaming platforms) and translate them into actionable roadmaps for Colibri. 8. Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership • Mentor and develop Salesforce architects, solution architects, and senior engineers — building a culture of architectural excellence and continuous learning. • Serve as the senior technical advisor and escalation point for complex platform decisions, production incidents, and strategic vendor negotiations. • Communicate architectural strategy, roadmaps, and trade-offs clearly to both C-suite leadership and engineering teams. • Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure architectural decisions enable business outcomes. • Build strong relationships with Salesforce, Boomi, AWS, Snowflake, and other strategic vendor partners; influence product roadmaps and leverage early access to new capabilities. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Required • 12+ years in enterprise software architecture, with at least 7 years as a Salesforce Technical Architect. • Demonstrated track record as a full-scope Enterprise Architect — owning architecture across application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure domains simultaneously. • Deep, hands-on Salesforce platform expertise: Apex, LWC, Flow, OmniStudio, Platform Events, Data Cloud, and the Salesforce security and sharing model. • Proven experience across multiple Salesforce clouds: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud. • Hands-on experience designing and governing enterprise integrations using Boomi, MuleSoft, or a comparable iPaaS platform at scale. • Strong experience with API management, event-driven architecture, Change Data Capture, and streaming integration patterns. • Experience designing scalability, high-availability, and disaster recovery architectures for SaaS platform ecosystems. • Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and how it underpins SaaS resilience, scalability, and security. • Experience defining DevOps, CI/CD, and release management practices for Salesforce and enterprise SaaS platforms. • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks) and modern data architecture patterns (lakehouse, data mesh, data fabric). • Proven ability to lead architecture governance: establishing standards, running ARBs, and influencing technical direction across multiple teams and business units. • Excited about and actively using AI tools — including AI code assistants, GenAI models, and automation platforms — as a core part of your architectural practice. Preferred • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) — or actively pursuing CTA. • Salesforce Application Architect and/or System Architect certification. • Cloud-specific Salesforce certifications (Sales, Service, Commerce, Marketing, Data Cloud, Integration Architect). • Boomi Architect, MuleSoft Integration Architect, or equivalent iPaaS certification. • Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or a comparable enterprise architecture framework. • Experience in ed-tech, professional licensing, e-commerce, or other high-volume, regulated SaaS environments. • Experience implementing Salesforce Agentforce, Einstein AI, or comparable AI platform capabilities. MINDSET & CORE COMPETENCIES We are looking for more than a technically excellent architect. The right person brings a rare combination of vision, pragmatism, and relentless ambition. • 10X Mindset — You don’t look for 10% improvements; you look for the architectural lever that unlocks 10x the value. You challenge assumptions, eliminate accidental complexity, and build platforms that scale far beyond today’s needs. • AI-Native — You are genuinely excited about AI, not as a trend but as a fundamental shift in how platforms are built and operated. You actively use AI tools in your own workflow and help your teams do the same. • Systems Thinker — You see the whole system, not just the components. You design for emergent behavior, failure modes, and long-term evolution, not just immediate requirements. • Bias for Simplicity — You believe the best architecture is the simplest one that solves the problem. You fight complexity at every turn and design for operability as much as capability. • Executive-Ready Communicator — You can explain a multi-year platform roadmap to a CFO and a database sharding strategy to a senior engineer, with equal clarity and conviction. • Builder & Mentor — You love building great things AND developing great people. You leave every team you work with better than you found it. • Commercially Aware — You understand that architecture must serve business outcomes. You think about TCO, time-to-market, and competitive advantage alongside technical elegance. • Customer-Obsessed — Every architectural decision ultimately exists to serve Colibri’s learners and customers. You keep that north star in view always.
