15 years of overall industry experience working with cross functional teams

At least 8 years of strong operational network experience with firewalls (primarily Palo Alto)

Illumio Host Agent experience is a plus

Strong networking skills; CCNP certification or higher

Strong understanding of the big picture and how technical components fit together

Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum 8 years as a security consultant working with Palo Alto firewalls

Expert knowledge of networking fundamentals including protocols, server/desktop environments, hardware/software, and management tools

Understanding of network micro segmentation and application segmentation based on secure data flows

Experience with Palo Alto policy design, review, implementation, and troubleshooting

Strong understanding of necessary data flows between users, applications, and application to application communications

Ability to write allow/deny policies based on validated criteria

Ability to parse firewall log files and create rules based on validated data flows

Strong understanding of security access rules, ACLs, source/destination rules, and policy definitions

Understanding of protocol communication (control/response, active/passive ports) and how they apply to application and data communication rule sets

Strong understanding of IP addressing and subnetting

Management experience

Ability to manipulate large datasets in Excel (vLookup, IF statements, AVERAGE, SEARCH, Pivot Tables, Sorting, Filtering, etc.)

Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Ansible
