Overview:
Client is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join a prominent healthcare enterprise on a 7-month contract-to-hire basis. This role sits within the Enterprise Data Architecture and Interoperability group, working in close collaboration with enterprise architects, interoperability leads, and data engineering teams. In this role, you will lead the architecture of critical data interchanges across major system integration (SI) initiatives centered on claims processing, pharmacy systems, and member enrollment. You will design scalable data pipelines, lakehouse solutions, and event-driven architectures utilizing Snowflake and FHIR standards to enable seamless internal and external interoperability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Architect, design, and guide the implementation of enterprise data solutions supporting large-scale system integrations across claims, pharmacy, and membership domains.
• Define and implement internal and external data interchange architectures using modern integration patterns, event-based designs, and RESTful APIs.
• Lead the architectural design and utilization of Snowflake as the primary analytical data source, leveraging its native data sharing and lakehouse capabilities.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Interoperability Architecture, and engineering teams to support FHIR standard integrations and health data modernization.
• Establish architectural patterns for high-throughput claims adjudication and transaction workflows.
• Participate in quarterly on-site enterprise architecture planning and synchronization sessions.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in enterprise data architecture and data engineering.
• Deep domain expertise in healthcare claims processing and claims adjudication workflows.
• Strong functional familiarity with pharmacy, membership, or enrollment data domains.
• Demonstrated mastery of modern data architecture styles, including Lakehouse, Data Warehousing, and Event-Based/Event-Driven architecture.
• Hands-on architectural experience with Snowflake (preferred) or Microsoft enterprise cloud data stack.
• Solid understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, specifically FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and API-driven data interchange.
Preferred Qualifications:
• In-depth understanding of Snowflake data sharing architecture and advanced sharing capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare data modernizations transitioning legacy data structures into FHIR standards.
• Familiarity with healthcare provider data structures (e.g., NPI Type 1 / Type 2, provider credentialing, and practice workflows).
• TOGAF or related enterprise data architecture certifications.
