Role: Azure Cloud Solutions Engineer
Location: Remote
The Cloud Solutions Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and evolving Azure-first cloud solutions and modern digital experiences. The primary focus of this role is Azure cloud development, Azure DevOps delivery practices, React-based SharePoint Framework (SPFx) development, and end-to-end observability using Azure Application Insights to enable scalable collaboration, content, and line-of-business integrations across the enterprise.
Partnering closely with architecture, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders, this role delivers secure, well-governed solutions and establishes engineering standards for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and application lifecycle management.
Serving as both a hands‑on engineer and a technical advisor, the Cloud Solutions Engineer sets standards, guides solution design, and drives best practices across Microsoft 365 platform and Azure services. The role plays a key part in shaping the Microsoft 365 roadmap and ensuring solutions align with organizational governance, compliance, and security requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Key contributor to the design, development, and delivery of Azure cloud solutions, including application architecture, secure integration patterns, and performance/scalability best practices.
Establish and continuously improve Azure DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, branching/release strategies, automated testing, and deployment governance.
Build modern user experiences using React and SharePoint Framework (SPFx), integrating with Microsoft 365 and Azure services to deliver collaboration, content, and workflow solutions.
Implement end-to-end application monitoring and telemetry using Azure Application Insights, establishing dashboards, alerts, and SLOs to improve reliability and incident response.
Enable AI-powered capabilities by designing and delivering solutions with Azure AI Foundry, including model/service selection, prompt and evaluation practices, and responsible AI guardrails.
Partner with security, compliance, and identity teams to ensure solutions align with data protection, retention, eDiscovery, and regulatory requirements across Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Establish and enforce engineering and governance standards for reusable components, environment management, secrets/keys, access controls, and documentation across the solution lifecycle.
Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for engineers, guiding solution design, code quality, and adoption of emerging Azure and Microsoft 365 capabilities.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Additional Skills and Knowledge:
10+ years of experience in Azure cloud development and modern web engineering, delivering secure, scalable enterprise solutions.
Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines, releases, artifacts), source control (Git), and automated testing practices.
Strong development experience with React and SharePoint Framework (SPFx), integrating with Microsoft 365 and Azure services (e.g., Graph, Functions, Logic Apps, APIs).
Proficiency in observability and operational excellence using Azure Application Insights (dashboards, KQL queries, alerting, and telemetry standards).
Working knowledge of Azure AI Foundry and responsible AI practices, including evaluation, prompt/version management, security controls, and governance guardrails.
Experience with identity and access management using Azure AD / Entra ID, including app registrations, managed identities, RBAC, and conditional access concepts.
Technologies: Azure (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage, Key Vault, API Management), Azure DevOps, GitHub, React, SPFx, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online, Teams), Azure Application Insights, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, software development life cycle, etc. Any additional AWS cloud experience a big plus
