A Benefitfocus module integration consultant with HCM/Payroll, such as Oracle or SAP, role focuses on automating data exchange between benefit systems and payroll, ensuring accurate deductions, managing life events, and validating employee data via APIs or flat files. Key tasks include configuring integration points, troubleshooting API logs, performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities
System Integration & Management: Configure and maintain API-driven or SFTP-based connections between Benefitfocus and HCM systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Cloud) to automate data flow.
Data Validation and Mapping: Map benefit data fields to payroll, ensuring accuracy in deductions for benefits, garnishments, and employee personal information.
Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the technical lead to analyze, debug, and resolve issues related to benefit enrollment and payroll deductions, particularly in reporting and API logs.
Testing & Compliance: Develop test scenarios for system enhancements, conduct UAT, and manage year-end processes, including tax updates.
Benefit Event Processing: Ensure employee life events (e.g., marriage, birth) accurately trigger updates in both Benefitfocus and payroll systems.
Required Skills
HCM Expertise: Strong understanding of HCM/Payroll modules (e.g., SAP HCM/SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion).
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of API technologies (SOAP/REST), middleware tools (e.g., Dell Boomi), and file interfaces (SFTP/CSV).
Analytical Skills: Experience mapping complex data, performing audits, and resolving payroll inaccuracies.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in HR, IT, or related field.
3+ years experience with HRIS platforms and benefits administration.
Experience with Benefitfocus or similar benefits administration software.
