Atlassian Platform Administrator & Project Lead

We are seeking a senior-level Atlassian Platform Expert / Jira Administrator to support, configure, and optimize enterprise-level software development tools. If you are a platform owner who can design workflows, script automations, and manage cloud instances, we want to hear from you.

Location & Work Arrangement

• Location: Columbia, SC (Zip: 29201)
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days/week onsite; 100% onsite is highly preferred).
• Note: Candidates must be a local resident or willing to relocate prior to starting at their own expense.

Key Technical Requirements

Core Competencies (5+ Years Required):

• Jira & Confluence Mastery: Hands-on administration, permissions management, global template design, and schema configuration (specifically Jira Cloud).
• Business Translation: Proven experience configuring Atlassian products directly from business requirements.

Advanced Engineering (2+ Years Required):

• Automation & Scripting: Deep experience creating automated tasks and scripting using Jira Automation and ScriptRunner.
• Advanced Reporting: Mastery of complex JQL (Jira Query Language) filters and custom interactive dashboards.
• Upgrades & Migrations: Proven track record of managing version upgrades and executing at least 1 successful cloud migration or major instance consolidation.

Preferred & Ecosystem Skills

• Atlassian Suite: Familiarity with Bitbucket, Bamboo, FishEye, Git Integration, and Xray (Test Management).
• Integrations: Experience connecting Atlassian tools with external ITSM systems, identity providers, CI/CD pipelines, and webhooks/APIs.
• Bonus Points: Exposure to Atlassian Rovo (AI search/agents) and experience presenting to formal Change Approval Boards (CAB).
• Documentation: Experience writing technical runbooks, standard operating procedures, and governance compliance policies.

Education & Background

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (or 4 years of equivalent professional experience).
• Certifications: Relevant Atlassian certifications are highly preferred.
• Background Check: State-mandatory Criminal, Credit, and E-Verify checks are required.

Interview Process

• Mode: 1-Round Virtual/Online via Microsoft Teams (Local candidates are welcome to interview in person).
• A brief second-round writing or technical presentation exercise may be scheduled if needed.
