Principal Duties:
Under the direction of the Sr. AVP of Business Applications, the Sr. Director of ERP Oracle HCM leads the strategy, implementation, and ongoing support of Oracle Cloud HCM modules, including Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, and Scheduling. This role oversees functional teams and partners with business stakeholders to plan, implement, and optimize system capabilities that support a complex, unionized workforce of over 45,000 employees.
The position requires strong leadership, including the ability to set clear expectations, manage workloads, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. The Sr. Director works cross-functionally with Corporate Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external consulting partners to ensure system configurations align with business requirements, regulatory standards, and operational goals.
This role also leads design, testing, and validation activities; supports system configuration and enhancements; and ensures successful post go-live stabilization and continuous improvement. The individual will assess quarterly Oracle Cloud releases, coordinate updates, and leverage automated testing tools to maintain system integrity and performance.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
Lead ERP operations for Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, and Scheduling, ensuring alignment with organizational needs
Manage and mentor functional teams; set priorities, allocate resources, and drive accountability
Partner with business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that address evolving requirements and system gaps
Oversee system implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of Oracle Cloud HCM modules
Collaborate with external consulting partners to ensure compliant and effective system design
Direct the development of functional specifications, including fast formulas, interfaces, configurations, and customizations
Support security role design, provisioning, and governance within Oracle Cloud HCM
Lead testing strategy and execution, including automated testing and validation for implementations and quarterly releases
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to payroll and timekeeping processes
Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and system performance
Support integrations, reporting, dashboards, and data extracts to meet business needs
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards
Lead post go-live stabilization, user training, and continuous system optimization
Collaborate across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams on enhancements, change management, and strategic initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of Divisional
Directors to insure the promotion of Divisional and Corporate policies and programs. May serve as the Deputy to Assistant Vice President and assumes full responsibility and authority in the latter's absence in the delegated areas of authority.
General Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include:
Directs, coordinates and evaluates operations of divisional departments and departmental directors.
Represents the Assistant Vice President in matters involving City, Regional, State and/or Federal agencies.
Assists in the establishment of programs and policies reflecting the philosophy and objectives of this Division.
Attends staff meetings and reviews budget submissions.
Provides recommendations and direction regarding proposed projects and/or other related programs.
Performs other responsible tasks as directed by the Assistant Vice President.
Acts as liaison with other corporate departments to assist in providing technical services.
Acts in lieu of the Assistant Vice President in his/her absence and in designated operational areas.
Educational Level:
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration or an approved related program and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or,
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or,
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Years of Experience:
