We’re growing and looking for a skilled Lead Installer to join our team.

Position Summary

The Lead Installer is responsible for overseeing on-site AV installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Kontek’s high standards. This role leads installation technicians, ensures system quality, and serves as a key client-facing representative on-site.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead installation teams on projects involving displays, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, microphones, control systems, video conferencing, cabling, and more.
  • Develop project-specific work plans to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager on job status and field issues.
  • Verify installed systems meet design documents, Kontek standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation.
  • Perform advanced configurations, load programming/firmware, and test systems before client turnover.
  • Train clients on installed systems as needed.
  • Ensure safety compliance and monitor crew performance.
  • Mentor and review Installer I & II team members.
  • Attend kick-off and construction meetings as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of AV installation experience, with at least 2 years leading others.
  • CTS-I certification strongly preferred.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong computer and networking skills.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Reliable and punctual, with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license (company vehicle provided for projects).
