Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Engineer - Remote position located in Charlotte, NC. This is an 8+ month contract opportunity. Responsibilities: - In a NOC environment, document, configure, install, deploy, migrate, monitor, investigate, triage, troubleshoot, remediate, and maintain network systems for performance, efficiency, stability, and availability
- Process RMA and hardware replacements and upgrades per best practices
- Ensure day-to-day operations of technology infrastructure
- Design and develop automation/scripting solutions to assist position and team performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
- Successfully implement network and device maintenance requests
- Assist in network migration projects, creating documentation, writing MOPs and turning up circuits
- Provide high-level technical & engineering feedback for network performance management configurations, troubleshooting, and service restoration
- Work with network vendor providers troubleshooting and administering network devices
- Monitor and analyze performance across networks and underlying automation deployments
- Develop and oversee technical methods, procedures, and assist with complex solution design feedback
- Identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of systems
- Act as a liaison between customer facing teams, network operations centers, vendor support teams, and peer networks as needed
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree plus 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia platforms
- Layers 2 & 3 switch and router configuration and management
- Advanced understanding of internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF
- Experience with isolation of telecom and/or network outage causes and service restorations
- Proficient and proven knowledge base in DNS and scripting applications related to network architecture and support
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Desired skills: Pay range: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour
