Candidates must have strong experience with enterprise productivity tools commonly used by large tech companies (e.g., Sheets, Docs, Slides, cloud-based file systems, dashboards, and collaborative tracking tools).

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting new data center construction, with a solid understanding of how permitting, design maturity, and regional jurisdictional requirements influence project timelines and construction sequencing.

This is a remote role, but candidates must live within ~2 hours of one of the following regions:
• West Virginia
• Virginia Beach, VA
• Northern Virginia
• Columbus, OH
• Charleston, SC

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the owner’s representative for new data center buildouts, managing pre-construction and design-related project workflows.
• Lead and track permitting strategy, including:
– Understanding how permit requirements affect design decisions and project sequencing
– Managing permit comments, resubmittals, inspection scheduling, and approval milestones
• Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders, including:
– AHJs and utility providers
– Civil, structural, architectural, and MEP engineering partners
– Fire protection, environmental, and construction stakeholders
• Ensure design packages meet required maturity for permit submissions and construction readiness.
• Manage project schedules, cost tracking, deliverables, and risk registers using enterprise collaboration tools.
• Drive constructability reviews, design clarifications, and value engineering initiatives.
• Support scope adjustments, contract amendments, and negotiation processes.
• Produce recurring project status reports, dashboard updates, and coordination summaries.
• Maintain document control systems and manage the full design documentation lifecycle, including versioning and structured file organization.
• Utilize advanced workflows in Sheets, Docs, Slides, collaborative trackers, shared drives, and reporting dashboards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Proven Project Management experience supporting new data center or mission-critical facility construction.
• Demonstrated proficiency in large-scale enterprise collaboration tools, including:
– Advanced spreadsheets (complex formulas, dashboards, multi-sheet trackers)
– Executive-level documentation and reporting
– Shared drive structure, permissions, and version control
– Risk/issue/action trackers
– Dashboard and reporting frameworks
• Strong understanding of permitting processes, including:
– Site, civil, building, mechanical, electrical
– Fire/life safety, environmental, and utility reviews
• Understanding of how permitting impacts design maturity, schedules, procurement, and field readiness.
• Familiarity with regional code differences and jurisdictional requirements.
• Experience coordinating with AHJs, utilities, design consultants, and construction teams.
• Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and maintain structured, organized tracking.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting large-scale or hyperscale data center programs.
• Familiarity with construction administration processes and as-built documentation.
• Experience in owner-side or PMO-style project execution.

Working Model

• Primarily remote with required on-site engagement as needed.
• Must live within two hours of the assigned region.
• Organized, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple design, permitting, and coordination workflows simultaneously.
