Job Description
BCforward is seeking a Project Manager III to support client 1P Retail team as a contingent worker. The role will lead technology and innovation initiatives across client physical retail footprint, spanning retail systems implementation, AI-powered customer experiences, and customer journey design. The successful candidate will operate with autonomy and manage technology workstreams end-to-end in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver cross-functional technology projects through full lifecycle from scoping and planning through implementation and launch.
- Drive implementation, development, and continuous improvement of retail systems including POS, ERP, CRM, AV, and in-store demo technologies.
- Manage AI implementation initiatives within retail, including AI-powered customer experiences and AI-driven store operations optimization.
- Own retail customer journey design projects, mapping and improving how customers interact with technology across the store experience.
- Translate technical requirements into clear action plans, bridging engineering, product, and retail stakeholders.
- Partner with Retail Operations, Product Marketing, Enterprise Systems & Product, Retail Design & Implementation, Retail Finance, and Product Management to drive execution.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and escalate with solution options.
- Curate and present project status, risks, and progress to leadership with clarity and precision.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience in project or program management within technology, consumer electronics, DTC retail, or ultra premium hotelier environments.
- Hands-on experience managing technology implementation projects such as system rollouts, platform migrations, or technology-driven process changes.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, MS Project, or Wrike, and productivity suites such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Proven ability to drive defined business strategy through execution to delivery.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent workstreams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with retail technology systems such as POS, ERP, CRM, AV, or in-store demo platforms.
- Exposure to AI/ML product implementation or technology innovation projects.
- Background in retail operations or strong knowledge of SOPs, store workflows, and frontline communications.
- MBA or advanced degree; PMP or Agile certification.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve personal and team productivity.
- Experience creating store-team-facing communications such as briefings, FAQs, and playbooks.
