Job Description:
IT PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Rochester, Minnesota (hybrid)\\

Role Overview

This role involves leading projects of medium to high complexity and supporting projects of high complexity as part of a program team. The position is responsible for achieving project objectives on time, on budget, and in conformance with established IT methodologies and practices. The Project Manager will manage projects with budget responsibility up to (USD)1 million and may require matrix supervision of staff from other IT departments, divisions, and contractor resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects of medium to high complexity, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Solicit technological input from senior technical resources and facilitate technology problem-solving.
  • Manage projects with budget responsibility up to (USD)1 million.
  • Present project requests to institutional committees for approval and direction.
  • Support senior-level project/program managers in strategic planning processes.
  • Make judgments and take actions to accomplish project objectives under minimal supervision.
  • Advise IT staff on project management practices, methods, and standards.
  • Manage multiple competing objectives and communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Ensure strict adherence to budget management guidelines.
Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience managing projects of simple and moderate complexity in Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, including experience with PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas.
  • OR a Master's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience managing projects of simple to moderate complexity in Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, including experience with PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas.


Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web Browsers.

Desired Background & Skills

-Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross functional IT infrastructure or cybersecurity projects.

-Working understanding of network segmentation and enterprise networking concepts sufficient to manage technical dependencies and risks (no hands on configuration required).

-Strong stakeholder management skills in a regulated enterprise environment.

-Proven ability to develop clear project reporting, dashboards, and executive ready status materials (e.g., schedule health, enforcement progress, risks and blockers).

-Experience translating technical execution into concise leadership communications and decision support.

-PMP or equivalent project management experience strongly preferred.

-Comfortable working directly with engineers and operational teams to validate real world behaviors and constraints.

-Highly detail oriented and process driven, with experience supporting multiple device classes or technology domains.
