RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Product Owner - Retail Payments (Hybrid) in Riverwoods, IL.
Duties:
* Lead full-cycle payment processor and payment gateway implementations from discovery and requirements through production go-live
* Own complex payment requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog prioritization, scope decisions, and product tradeoffs
* Define end-to-end payment flows across authorization, capture, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks, tokenization, and digital wallets
* Partner with engineering teams on payment APIs, webhooks, processor integrations, POS, ecommerce, mobile payments, and omnichannel checkout
* Serve as the payments subject matter expert across business, engineering, operations, finance, compliance, and vendor teams
* Analyze authorization rates, declines, transaction failures, chargebacks, settlement issues, and reconciliation trends
* Drive improvements in payment reliability, approval rates, customer experience, processing costs, and operational efficiency
REQUIREMENTS:
* Significant hands-on experience specifically within payment systems, payment platforms, merchant acquiring, or payment processing
* Proven experience personally leading at least one end-to-end payment processor or payment gateway implementation
* Experience supporting retail, ecommerce, POS, mobile, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other consumer payment channels
* Deep knowledge of card-present and card-not-present payments, authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, tokenization, EMV, contactless, and digital wallets
* Strong understanding of payment processors, gateways, PSPs, acquirers, merchant ecosystems, routing, failover, and multi-vendor payment environments
* Strong technical fluency with payment APIs, system integrations, webhooks, PCI-DSS, and payment security requirements
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
