DevOps / Workload Automation Engineer (5-8 Years Experience)

Job Summary
Our direct client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in workload automation, Unix/Linux systems, and application support. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise job scheduling platforms (AutoSys, JS7, and similar workload automation tools), supporting production environments, and ensuring reliable application performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused mindset, capable of supporting internal stakeholders and resolving production issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize workload automation tools such as AutoSys, JS7, and other enterprise schedulers
Monitor and support batch processing, job dependencies, and workflow orchestration
Perform application monitoring, incident management, and root cause analysis
Troubleshoot production issues across Unix/Linux environments
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve system reliability
Provide Tier 2/3 support and maintain clear communication with customers and stakeholders
Implement automation improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and runbooks
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps, production support, or systems engineering
Strong hands-on experience with AutoSys, JS7, or similar workload automation tools
Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux systems administration and shell scripting
Experience with application monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Nagios, etc.)
Proven troubleshooting and incident management skills
Experience supporting production environments with customer-facing responsibilities
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
Knowledge of ITIL processes
Experience with automation or scripting (Bash, Python)
