Note:
This role is located in Santa Clara, CA and follows a work from office model, requiring 5 days onsite each week. The position is available to eligible candidates based in the United States only.
Position Summary:
The IT Support Engineer(Network) will provide on‐site infrastructure support for semiconductor manufacturing operations across North and South America. The role serves as the primary IT contact for factory stakeholders, coordinating closely with global IT teams (network, compute, storage, applications) and overseeing third‐party IT service providers. The engineer ensures stable, secure, and efficient 24/7 factory IT operations.
Role Notes
Semiconductor manufacturing environment; MES or shop‐floor system experience is helpful.
This is not a desktop support, software developer, or Windows admin‐only role.
Position is ~20% hands‐on; ~80% work is executed by factory IT teams (e.g., Foxconn IT).
Direct hands‐on involvement primarily during initial setups or critical escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the on‐site IT focal point for factory personnel and coordinate with remote/global IT teams across multiple domains.
Oversee and manage third‐party IT support staff, ensuring compliance with IT policies and factory safety standards.
Handle urgent tier‐3 escalations involving network, servers, client systems, and production tools.
Support daily operational tasks, including:
User provisioning
Hardware/software deployment
Patch management
Incident troubleshooting and resolution
Perform basic network diagnostics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing) and escalate to specialized teams when required.
Support Windows and Linux/Unix servers, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
Participate in security initiatives such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
Assist with IT asset management, documentation, and audit readiness for factory systems.
Coordinate with global teams to maintain MES, ERP, and other factory-critical applications.
Perform basic network diagnostics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing) and escalate to specialized teams when required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands‐on experience.
3–5 years of IT support or system administration experience in manufacturing or high‐tech environments.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
Experience with Windows and Linux administration, scripting, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with endpoint security tools, patch management, and hardening best practices.
Experience managing and coordinating with third‐party IT service providers.
Strong communication skills; able to work with both IT and non‐IT personnel.
Ability to work independently in a fast‐paced, production‐sensitive environment.
Experience with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow.
Knowledge of MES/ERP or factory application systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
40%: Networking — LAN/WAN, cabling, firewall, TCP/IP routing.
20%: Server, virtualization, storage, and Windows/Linux OS.
20%: Security and audit knowledge.
Soft Skills:
Ability to lead and coordinate remote/third‐party IT teams.
Energetic, proactive, strong "can‐do” attitude; effective with IT and non‐IT users.
