About the RoleThe
Alarm Inspection & Maintenance Services division is seeking a skilled
Fire Alarm Inspector with a strong background in
fire life safety systems. This role focuses on the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance of
networked fire alarm systems, with additional exposure to access control and CCTV systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced working in code-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, test, maintain, repair, and service fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Perform installation, programming, configuring, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarm systems and related low-voltage systems
- Troubleshoot and repair system issues including panel failures, device replacements, and low-voltage circuit issues
- Utilize a digital multimeter to diagnose ground faults, shorts, and open circuits
- Perform installation and programming of integrated fire alarm, access control, and security systems
- Supervise and inspect installations to ensure work meets customer specifications and contract requirements
- Respond to customer service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate with central dispatch regarding work-order status and outstanding customer issues
- Participate in an after-hours/on-call service rotation
- Complete and submit all required documentation, reports, and inspection records accurately and on time
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and operational manuals
- Complete required internal and external certification courses
Required Skills & Qualifications- Experience servicing and inspecting fire alarm systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills in low-voltage environments
- Working knowledge of:
- Fire alarm panels and networked systems
- Access control systems
- CCTV systems
- Ability to install and service cabling, devices, and control panels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively utilize technical resources
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and system documentation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience- Experience with:
- Access Control
- CCTV
- ATM or monitored systems
- Prior experience in fire life safety inspections and maintenance
- Familiarity with code-compliance environments

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
