Location: San Francisco, CA

About the Role: We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support day-to-day infrastructure operations in a fast-paced environment. This role will focus on the physical installation, connectivity, patching, and basic configuration of servers and network equipment.

The ideal candidate has practical experience working in data center or IT infrastructure environments and is comfortable working with rack equipment, cabling, IDF/BDF environments, and basic network hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rack, stack, patch, and installation of servers, switches, and other IT infrastructure equipment.
  • Install, route, label, and maintain copper and fiber cabling.
  • Perform basic hardware and network equipment configuration and connectivity checks.
  • Work within MDF/IDF/BDF environments and follow established cabling and infrastructure standards.
  • Assist with equipment moves, adds, changes, and decommissioning.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of physical connectivity, cabling, and hardware issues.
  • Maintain accurate equipment, port, and cabling documentation.
  • Follow site-specific procedures, safety requirements, and change-management processes.
  • Coordinate with network, infrastructure, and other technical teams as required.
  • Occasionally lift and move equipment weighing 30–50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data center, IT infrastructure, network, or related technician roles.
  • Hands-on experience with rack/stack/patch activities.
  • Familiarity with IDF, BDF, and MDF concepts and environments.
  • Experience working with copper and/or fiber cabling.
  • Basic understanding of networking and hardware configuration.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical documentation and procedures.
  • Comfortable working onsite Monday–Friday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment weighing 30–50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a data center or enterprise infrastructure environment.
  • Exposure to low-voltage (LV) cabling or structured cabling.
  • Familiarity with network switches, servers, patch panels, and related infrastructure.
  • Experience with cable labeling, tracing, testing, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools and processes used for infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
