About the Role

We are seeking an experienced OSP Construction Technician with strong hands-on experince in both aerial and underground fiber construction. This role supports large-scale telecom builds and requires someone who excels in the field, understands fiber infrastructure, and can work safely and efficiently in fast-paced outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aerial and underground fiber installation, including strand, lashing, pole transfers, and hardware installation
  • Operate or assist with underground construction methods such as trenching, boring, placing conduit, handholes, and vaults
  • Read and interpret construction prints, permits, maps, and splice documentation
  • Ensure proper installation of fiber optic cable, tracer wire, ducts, enclosures, and related OSP materials
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, traffic control, fall protection, and trench safety
  • Assist with restoration and cleanup of job sites
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crews, and subcontractors
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and project timelines

Must-Have Experience

  • Aerial construction experience: strand, lashing, pole work, hardware installation
  • Underground construction experience: trenching, boring, conduit installation, vault/handhole placement
  • Fiber optic cable knowledge: placement, routing, pulling, and basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, prints, and job maps
  • Strong understanding of OSP construction methods and safety requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with subcontractors
  • Familiarity with telecom industry standards (NESC, 811, DOT)
  • Experience operating construction equipment (bucket truck, mini excavator, etc.)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

This is a Contract position based out of Mogadore, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
