JDE World Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Armonk, NY that is seeking an experienced JD Edwards World Developer to support and enhance a legacy, highly customized JD Edwards World environment running on IBM i/AS400.

Summary:
This role focuses on analysis, development, maintenance, and production support for custom programs, reports, and interfaces, partnering with functional SMEs and technical teams to stabilize and improve business-critical processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a -keep-the-lights-on- support model-working through older codebases, documenting fixes, and delivering incremental improvements while managing risk in production.

Key Responsibilities:
Legacy Development & Enhancements (JDE World/IBM i):
* Design, develop, modify, and maintain custom solutions in JD Edwards World using RPG (RPG/400, RPG ILE) and CL/400
* Deliver full SDLC work: requirements analysis, technical design, development, unit testing, documentation, and deployment for enhancements and fixes
* Support changes to World financial and distribution-related custom programs and reporting as needed by the business

Production Support & Troubleshooting:
* Provide day-to-day production support: triage incidents, troubleshoot defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective fixes
* Diagnose and resolve issues affecting operational modules such as Distribution & Logistics/Manufacturing/Financials (based on typical World support patterns)
* Document issues and resolutions to improve long-term supportability in a legacy environment

Reporting, Interfaces & Data Movement:
* Develop and modify reports and spool-file outputs and support downstream formatting/printing processes where applicable
* Build and maintain interfaces/integrations between JD Edwards World and external systems (file-based, FTP, batch, etc.) where present in the environment
* Work with SQL/embedded SQL and data structures on IBM i to support reporting and custom data needs

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on development experience with JD Edwards World on IBM i/AS400
* Strong programming skills in RPG (RPG/400 and/or RPG ILE) and CL/400
* Experience delivering customizations, maintenance, and ongoing production support for JD Edwards World environments
* Working knowledge of SQL (including embedded SQL helpful) in IBM i contexts
* Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills in a legacy/custom footprint

Preferred/Nice-to-Have:
* Experience with JD Edwards versions referenced in legacy estates such as World A7.3 and/or World A9.x
* Experience supporting upgrades or version transitions in JD Edwards on IBM i
* Exposure to regulated reporting or compliance-driven enhancements (where applicable)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
