Summary

Required Skills & Experience

The Domain Operations Resource (DOR) Subject Matter Expert (SME) must possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in Cisco networking and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of Cisco ACI components, including VRFs, Bridge Domains (BDs), Endpoint Groups (EPGs), Endpoint Security Groups (ESGs), L3Outs, and Contracts.
  • Proven experience integrating Cisco ACI with OpenShift Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and Cilium/Isovalent networking solutions.
  • Strong expertise with Cisco Catalyst switching platforms and Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric technologies.
  • Hands-on administration and configuration of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including TACACS+, policy-based access control, and Network Access Control (NAC).
  • Experience utilizing network visibility and monitoring tools such as Cisco ThousandEyes, Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces, or equivalent enterprise solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, QoS, network segmentation, and security architectures.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed network diagrams, technical documentation, operational procedures, and architectural designs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in mission-critical, high-availability environments.



Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

The following skills and experience are highly desirable but not mandatory:

  • Industry certifications such as CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, or equivalent advanced networking credentials.
  • Experience with container networking, virtualization platforms, and cloud-native infrastructure integrations.
  • Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity frameworks, security best practices, and state or government regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Python, Ansible, and REST APIs.
  • Prior experience supporting state government agencies, public-sector organizations, or large-scale enterprise network environments.
  • PCCSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate) certification or equivalent foundational cybersecurity knowledge, including NGFW concepts, threat prevention, App-ID, and security policy management.
  • PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator) certification or equivalent experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security profiles, NAT, URL filtering, App-ID, and WildFire.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor network and security environments, including Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
