Job Summary
This role provides deep functional and configuration leadership for SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) within an existing global SAP ECC landscape transitioning to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. The position is responsible for supporting a strategy of governing, harmonizing, and transforming enterprise master data while ensuring continuity of operations during transformation.
The SAP MDG Configuration Analyst serves as the subject matter expert of SAP MDG based on business requirements to support master data design, governance, and data quality across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial domains, with a strong emphasis on ETL enablement, data harmonization, and system-to-system data movement from SAP and non-SAP source systems. The role ensures that master data is fit for purpose today in ECC and future-ready for S/4HANA and downstream digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Master Data Scope
Own, define and enhance SAP master data governance and control frameworks, ensuring data consistency, quality, and compliance across global business units.
Support and govern core master data objects including:
o Business Partners / Customers / Vendors
o Materials (including BOM-related attributes)
o Finance master data (G/L, cost centers, profit centers)
o Plant, storage location, and organizational structures
Define and enforce data ownership, stewardship, strategies (e.g. centralized vs federated), approval workflows, and validation rules.
Partner with business, integration, and reporting teams to resolve data integrity issues impacting operations, compliance, and analytics.

Data Harmonization, ETL & Integration Enablement
Lead data harmonization efforts across SAP ECC, Microsoft Navision, legacy platforms, and external source systems feeding SAP S/4 HANA.
Design and support ETL processes for master data ingestion, transformation, and distribution using SAP-standard and approved enterprise integration tooling.
Define canonical master data models and mapping rules to support:
o System consolidation
o S/4HANA migration readiness
o Analytics and reporting platforms
Collaborate with integration teams to ensure master data is consistently published and consumed across SAP and non-SAP landscapes.

S/4HANA & MDG Transformation Enablement (Future State)
Partnership with our Systems Integrator in design and readiness activities for SAP MDG on S/4HANA, including fit/gap analysis and process harmonization.
Translate ECC master data constructs into S/4HANA-aligned and MDG-compliant designs, including Business Partner adoption and data model simplification.
Define future-state governance processes supporting:
o Embedded MDG scenarios
o Centralized and decentralized governance models
o Scalable global data ownership structures
Actively reduce custom data models and point-to-point integrations by promoting SAP standard and extensibility best practices.

Cross-Functional & Compliance Responsibilities
Validate master data governance solutions against business, regulatory, and audit requirements, recommending process change where SAP standard provides superior control.
Produce clear and traceable documentation including:
o Data models and attribute definitions
o Governance workflows and approval matrices
o Data mapping and transformation logic
o Design decisions and configuration rationale
Develop and execute test strategies and validation artifacts supporting GxP / GAMP 5 / CSV requirements.
Provide subject-matter expertise during audits, data remediation initiatives, and production incidents.

Leadership & Delivery
Serve as a functional lead for master data initiatives, data quality programs, and transformation workstreams.
Facilitate workshops with global stakeholders to align on data standards, ownership, and governance.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to enterprise data standards, templates, and governance models.
Participate in critical incident support related to master data integrity and availability.

Required Experience
Minimum 8years of SAP master data experience, including hands-on configuration in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
Strong functional experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) concepts including governance frameworks, data models, workflows, and validations.
Practical experience supporting ETL, data harmonization, and system integration involving SAP and non-SAP source systems.
Experience leading or contributing to SAP transformation, data remediation, or system consolidation programs.
Background working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.

Desired / Additional Skills
Experience in the following SAP areas:
o Finance (FI/CO)
o Supply Chain (MM, PP, QM)
