Title: IT Project Manager (Contract)
Location: The Woodlands, TX (On Site, 5 Days/Week)
Duration: Contract through end of year (extension possible)
Pay Rate: $55-65/hour
Target Start: April
Reporting To: IT Leadership / PMO
Position Overview
A Oil and Gas client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a portfolio of enterprise technology initiatives. This is a hands on role focused on improving delivery, strengthening project execution, and bringing structure and accountability to in flight and upcoming IT projects.
The IT Project Manager will work closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and third party partners to ensure technology initiatives are planned, communicated, and delivered effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple concurrent IT projects across applications and infrastructure
Own the end to end project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and delivery
Lead enterprise application implementations and system enhancements
Support infrastructure related initiatives, including facilities and operational projects
Partner with internal teams such as:
PMO
Infrastructure & Operations
Security
Application teams (some systems supported by external vendors)
Coordinate closely with vendors and implementation partners
Facilitate recurring project status meetings and provide clear reporting using standard templates
Ensure consistent communication, escalation, and stakeholder alignment across teams
Improve project discipline, visibility, and execution rigor within a waterfall PMO environment
Build and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project
Project Environment
Enterprise IT environment with distributed teams
Multiple long term and business critical initiatives underway
Mix of application implementations and infrastructure projects
Ongoing need to bring stronger structure and momentum to projects that have experienced delays
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as an IT Project Manager in enterprise environments
Strong background managing:
Application implementations
Infrastructure projects
Vendor led initiatives
Experience working within a formal PMO and waterfall methodology
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive decisions
Comfortable operating in a fast paced, evolving environment
Hands on experience with MS Project
Work Environment
Ability to work on site full time in The Woodlands, TX
