The OpportunityWe are collaborating with multiple companies in Portage seeking experienced Applications Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define application requirements for manufacturing processes.
- Design, develop, and test software applications for controlling and monitoring manufacturing equipment.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing manufacturing applications.
- Optimize application performance and stability for continuous improvement in production.
- Document application specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Train end-users on new applications and provide ongoing support.
- Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance manufacturing application capabilities.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or field support within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and industrial control systems.
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications, CAD drawings, and customer requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technical presentations and conduct product demonstrations.
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault Enovia)
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD)
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA)
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
