Description
The Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise Windows Server environments across development and production. This role focuses on modern Windows Server platforms, identity and access management, certificate services, and infrastructure reliability. You will work closely with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams, as well as operations, security, and application teams, to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and highly available while applying automation and best practices to reduce operational overhead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments (2019 and newer, including Server Core)
Administer and optimize Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and role-based access control (RBAC)
Manage enterprise file services, including DFS, SMB, and NFS
Implement and maintain SSL/TLS certificates and Microsoft Certificate Services (PKI)
Support and maintain IIS-based applications and services
Manage Windows patching and update strategies (WSUS and related tooling)
Support virtualized infrastructure environments (VMware preferred)
Collaborate closely with the DevOps team to support automation, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
Partner with the Operations team to ensure system stability, availability, and incident response readiness
Troubleshoot system, network, authentication, and performance issues across environments
Develop and maintain scripts for automation and administration (PowerShell or Python)
Ensure system configurations are documented, standardized, and version-controlled
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle planning, and root-cause analysis efforts

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
