Summary

Overview:

  • We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Java, and Cloud technologies to support enterprise-scale insurance applications.
  • The ideal candidate will have genuine Guidewire development experience, strong software engineeringfundamentals, cloud-native and distributed systems expertise, and the ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise insurance applications using Guidewire InsuranceSuite and Java.
  • Develop and support Guidewire applications, with preference for experience in PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter.
  • Build and maintain cloud-native, distributed, and enterprise-scale applications.
  • Develop and implement solutions using AWS or other major cloud platforms.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to engineering and architectural decisions.
  • Implement modern development practices, automation, CI/CD, and software engineering standards.
  • Work with GitHub, Jira, Agile methodologies, and enterprise development environments.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical/project leadership while remaining actively involved in development.
  • Mentor software engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence technical direction and deliver business solutions.
  • Support application observability and monitoring using tools such as Datadog and Splunk.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on Java development experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience developing and enhancing Guidewire applications / InsuranceSuite.
  • Genuine enterprise insurance application development experience. Guidewire experience must be demonstrated through actual projects, not keyword-only exposure.
  • Experience with cloud application development, preferably AWS.
  • Experience developing cloud-native and distributed applications.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD.
  • Experience working in Agile/Jira environments.
  • Experience with technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, and technical design discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Guidewire certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter.
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance or broader insurance industry experience.
  • Strong AWS experience and familiarity with AWS services used for application development.
  • Experience with Datadog and/or Splunk.
  • Cloud modernization experience.
  • Experience developing AI-enabled applications.
  • Experience leading technical projects or workstreams in enterprise environments.
