Location: Hybrid - Onsite work in Chicago and Elgin (75%) Remote 25%
Duration: 12 Months Contract - Temp to Hire
M - F 8am to 5pm
PAY RATE: $28 per hour

Description
The Chicago Video team is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting video solutions across the City of Chicago. The team partners with multiple city agencies to define requirements and deliver solutions that increase situational awareness for mission critical first responders. The team works on a wide variety of technologies that include IP cameras, video management servers, analytics, networking and access control.
Job Summary
The Video Staging/Installation Technician's role will be to support a large video and license plate reader (LPR) deployment for mission critical customers. The role includes fabrication of video equipment, programing/configuration, and inventory management, Collaboration with multiple internal and external teams.
Responsibilities
Work with lead MSI engineer to understand project requirements
Fabricate video equipment pods for final installation
o Install equipment inside enclosure
o Build and install cabling for POD and cameras
Configure Linux/Windows based computers for cameras deployments
Configure PTZ/LPR cameras with basic setting prior to deployment
Manage/track/consolidate project hardware inventory
Test programmed equipment to ensure it meets quality standards
Update and create documentation related to the project
Provide onsite support as needed for installations
o 50% travel
Required Qualifications
Education: Two year degree preferred or relevant experience
Experience
Experience working with fixed and wireless network equipment
Experience with network video equipment and access controls
Experience troubleshooting in a technology field
Experience with current corporate communication technology
o Email, spreadsheet, word processors, presentation tools
Experience configuring equipment using computer/laptop using proceedures
