Role Overview
We're seeking a Principal Test Equipment Design Engineer with expertise in electrical design and software automation to develop advanced test platforms and architectures. You'll work on a variety of programs, designing test solutions for analog/digital, RF, high-power, and embedded systems using both custom and COTS equipment.

Role Overview
We're seeking a Principal Test Equipment Design Engineer with expertise in electrical design and software automation to develop advanced test platforms and architectures. You'll work on a variety of programs, designing test solutions for analog/digital, RF, high-power, and embedded systems using both custom and COTS equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy complex factory test systems in collaboration with internal and external teams
- Lead development of test hardware, software, and firmware from requirements through deployment
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth manufacturing integration
- Identify and resolve test readiness issues throughout the development lifecycle
- Lead medium-to-large teams, managing budget, schedule, and performance
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and junior engineers
- Present project status to leadership and report financial metrics (EVMS)
- Manage risks and opportunities proactively
- Support manufacturing operations with on-site troubleshooting and debugging
- Contribute to bids and proposals with cost, schedule, and technical input
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in test equipment design
- Experience leading technical teams and projects
- U.S. Citizenship with active and transferable security clearance
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start
- Familiarity with MS Project, Jira/Confluence, and EVMS tools
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Experience with National Instruments tools (TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW)
- Background in digital, analog, RF, or power supply test hardware design
- Experience automating commercial test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, analyzers, etc.)
