Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking NPI Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flows.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for NPI-related production issues.
• Participate in design reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in NPI processes and tools.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle) for PCB design and schematic capture.
• Proven experience with manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFT (Design for Testability), and DFA (Design for Assembly).
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change management processes.
• Experience with test fixture development and validation for production environments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) for manufacturing quality.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or lead small project teams.
• Experience with simulation tools for manufacturing process optimization.
