Summary

Location: Milford, DE
Description: Our client is currently seeking a OSP Engineer in Milford, DE.

You will be responsible for the field survey and Engineering design function for our Client's Fios Open for Sale program and customer circuit delivery.

Responsibilities include surveying customer locations and the surrounding network in order to provide a local design solution for the delivery of service. This includes the identification of Outside Plant Fiber Optic Network elements in proximity to the customer and determining methods of delivery to the customers building.

This role will require coordination with a variety of teams and will have direct contact with business and residential customers. Work will be performed in an outdoor environment and also indoors within customer premises.

Job Responsibilities also include:

Planning and Designing additions, upgrades, repairs and enhancements.

Selecting and pricing solutions based on the most effective, efficient, and timely design.

Coordination with internal departments and customer focused communication with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately.

Creating winning outcomes for both Verizon and its customers.

Targeted Years of Experience: 3-5 years

Responsibilities:

Fiber plant design, and general construction knowledge.

Experience in telecommunications / data networking or wireless industry.

Strong Computer Skills (Databases, Processes, and Administrative) - Comprehensive knowledge and skill for more complex applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, ArcGIS/ESRI, 3GIS, Google Earth, etc.

Knowledge of the network plant and local practices.

Experience with working application of engineering systems and databases.

Working knowledge of right-of-way, property rights, and permit acquisition.

MUST HAVE SKILLS

Knowledge of OSP engineering design priciples and standards

Knowledge of FTTP facilities

Ability to independtly perform OSP telecommuncation facility surveys

DESIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of IDDS drafting system
