Top Requirements

5+ years Software Engineering experience

5-7+ years Apache Spark (big-data processing)

3+ years Python/Django backend development

3-5+ years Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

3+ years OpenShift/Kubernetes (containerized workloads)

Plusses

Experience with GPU-based AI/ML workloads

Experience integrating Spark with Kafka, S3S, data lakes

Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Helm, Harness, Sonar)

Experience in financial services or regulated environments

Strong debugging skills across distributed systems

Job Summary

In this contingent resource assignment, the Software Engineer will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing multi-faceted, long-term engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, contributing to the resolution of complex situations, and ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Strategic collaboration with client personnel is essential.

Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Platform & Architecture Leadership

Lead design, deployment, and management of OpenShift clusters or Google Cloud Platform projects supporting containerized Spark applications

Architect and enhance the platform used for executing statistical risk models

Drive platform modernization and cloud adoption initiatives
Distributed Data Processing

Architect and oversee large-scale data processing workflows using Apache Spark

Optimize Spark jobs for performance and cost efficiency using Kubernetes orchestration and auto-scaling

Integrate Spark with Kafka, S3S, databases, and data lakes
Application & Tooling Development

Lead development of Python/Django microservices and backend tools

Ensure scalability, usability, and reliability of platform features
Automation & CI/CD

Design and govern CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Sonar, Helm, Harness)

Implement automation across deployments, environment management, and testing
Monitoring & Reliability

Monitor and tune cluster health, performance, and resource allocation using Prometheus, Grafana, and Google Cloud Platform tools

Troubleshoot distributed and cloud-native system issues
Security & Compliance

Ensure solutions follow enterprise security requirements

Implement RBAC, encryption, and secure coding patterns
Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with data scientists, platform engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams

Provide technical guidance and mentorship

Lead production deployments and root-cause analysis efforts
