We are seeking an experienced Senior Application / Platform Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and evolution of our application and data platforms. In this role, you will define technical roadmaps, lead modernization efforts, and ensure our platforms are scalable, secure, and resilient. This position requires a technical expert with deep full-stack engineering experience and hands-on architectural leadership across application development, cloud-native technologies, and data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the overarching architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices for application and platform development.
- Architect end-to-end solutions using React/Remix/NodeJS, Python (FastAPI, Flask), GraphQL, and microservices.
- Design scalable containerized and cloud-native solutions using Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
- Guide engineering teams through complex solution design decisions and conduct deep architecture reviews.
- Architect, optimize, and evolve the internal application platform to support UI frameworks, API gateways, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Architect solutions that manage structured/unstructured data leveraging PostgreSQL and RDBMS concepts.
- Analyze existing applications to identify modernization opportunities, leading refactoring and migration to microservices.
- Collaborate with product owners to translate business requirements into technology roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Deep hands-on expertise in full-stack engineering including React, Remix, and NodeJS for the frontend.
- Backend proficiency in Python, specifically with FastAPI and Flask.
- Strong experience with APIs, including GraphQL and REST.
- Proven experience designing and delivering microservices architectures.
- Mastery in containers and orchestration with Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of Linux environments.
- Strong data and database architecture experience with PostgreSQL and RDBMS fundamentals.
Architectural and Leadership Skills:- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including testing strategies and security controls.
- Ability to lead engineering teams through architectural and design decisions.
- Effective communication skills to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in application development and platform engineering.
- 5+ years in an architect or principal engineer role.
- Experience with a platform-as-a-product mindset.
- Knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure).
- Experience with event-driven systems and service mesh.
- Experience establishing enterprise architectural governance.
