Description

T he Vanguard 2.2.1 program has an opening for a VTS (Video Teleconferencing Services) Technician to support the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT).

The qualified person will support the daily responsibilities of the VTS Technician to include working/coordinating with a team of Tier II technicians and operational staff to support the DT mission. The VTS Technician will provide knowledge and technical support to video associated teleconference (VTS) equipment and customers. Equipment may include large monitors/displays, projectors, video cameras, and hardware located within the DOS video conferencing rooms.

This role is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm and allows 1 day of telework.

Travel may be required to other U.S. Department of State annexes. Most locations are within walking distance, and shuttle service is available for sites located in Rosslyn.

Description of Duties:
  • Provide Tier I & Tier II support to Department of State at domestic and overseas
  • Troubleshoot and support VTS and conference room requests.
  • Support site registration requests for conference room installations.
  • Documentation support to VTS related processes and procedures/SOPs.
  • Manage and maintain VTS location data and track reporting on systems utilization, and performance analysis.
  • Install/upgrade hardware and software related to conference room VTS equipment.
  • Provide on the spot support to VTS equipment (ie. audio/video) during conference meetings to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Conduct periodic testing and documentation support to audit proper functioning of VTS equipment.
  • Tracking VTS support requests via ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Experience supporting large-scale webinars and town halls using Microsoft Teams and WebEx, including coordination, setup, and live event support.
  • Troubleshoot and provide break/fix support for conference room audio/video systems and collaboration technologies.


Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors and two+ years experience; OR high school diploma and 6 years of related experience.
  • Customer focused with ability to communicate proactively and effectively.
  • Familiarity with operating, supporting, and maintaining VTS systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Cisco/Tandberg Codecs, Multipoint Controlling Units (MCU), and associated audio/video equipment.
  • Support Microsoft Teams, Cisco TelePresence systems, and WebEx.
  • Communication Skills: Experience communicating with customers and team members to provide 100% uptime of VTS equipment and conference room capabilities.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Ability to analyze/troubleshoot connectivity issues and provide timely resolutions.

Required Clearance:

  • Active secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. Active top secret clearance is highly preferred.


Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
