Scope of Work/Job Characteristics
The Enterprise Systems Administrator shall serve as the Department's Subject Matter Expert. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Perform management activities on Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory;
- Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft server and Azure resources;
- Develop, deploy, and maintain processes that optimize Amazon Web Services (AWS) services andresources;
- Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes orupgrades as needed to ensure optimization;
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
- Collaborate with OIT, data center staff, and users to perform resource deployments, upgrades, andconfiguration changes;
- Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users;
- Assist Azure application owners, administrators, and users with appropriate application access;
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows server issues with minimal impact on users;
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Linux server issues with minimal impact on users;
- Develop and write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform ActiveDirectory and Azure management activities;
- Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
- Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department's infrastructureteam;
- Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and
- Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is
required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when
applicable.
The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:
- A minimum of five (5) years of Windows Server administration experience, including three (3) or more
years administering Windows Server 2016 and newer;
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Azure or cloud technologies;
- A minimum of two (2) or more years of AWS experience;
- A minimum of five (5) or more years of Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), and Group Policy administration experience in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users;
- A minimum of three (3) or more years of Linux server experience;
- Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts;
- Experience working in a virtual server/Cloud environment; and
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting 3rd party applications.
NOTE: In addition to the above list, the selected Candidates must successfully complete a Level II
Background Check.
Preferred Qualifications
The Department prefers the Candidates to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for
this position:
- Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
- Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects;
- Experience working in the Microsoft Azure Government and AWS clouds;
- Experience with state government projects;
- Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.;
- Experience working with technical programming teams;
- Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems;
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders;
- Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
- Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming, data analytics, etc.;
- A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and
- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
