Job Description
We are seeking a Process Writer to join our dynamic Customer Experience team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in process documentation, SOP and DLP development, process mapping, and knowledge management and a proven ability to standardize procedures, identify gaps, and drive documentation quality that aligns with best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Document existing CX processes with detailed flowcharts, process maps, and written narratives, including gap analysis and improvement recommendations.
- Develop, maintain, and version-control standardized SOPs and DLPs across all CX functional areas.
- Conduct periodic quality reviews to validate documentation accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
- Establish and govern documentation standards, templates, and tools to ensure consistency and usability.
- Collaborate with Lean Six Sigma Black Belts, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to gather information and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Manage documentation projects, including work planning, milestone tracking, risk identification, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Business, Communication, or related field, or equivalent experience in technical/process writing and SOP/DLP development.
- Knowledge management capabilities to identify, create, store, and disseminate actionable information.
- Confidence leading Teams meetings to elicit process information from stakeholders and SMEs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and partner with internal and external teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word (styles, templates, document control), Excel (tracking, organization, basic formulas), PowerPoint, and SharePoint (document management, version control).
- Working knowledge of process mapping and ability to create current and future-state workflows using Visio or similar tools.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail to decompose and accurately record processes.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to manage projects and deliverables.
Preferred Skills:
- Industry knowledge of Medicaid operations, including Claims, Prior Authorization, Provider Enrollment, Contact Center, and Mailroom.
- Experience translating complex workflows into clear SOPs, DLPs, and process maps.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or Green Belt certification.
- Project management experience with multiple workstreams using tools such as MS Project or Planner.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify process gaps, evaluate options, and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common business productivity tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
- Proven relationship-building and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organization to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience gathering and validating process information with cross-functional teams and SMEs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team goals.
Specific Technical and Soft Skills:
- Technical: MS Word (advanced, styles and formatting), MS Excel (intermediate), document management and version control, Visio or similar for process mapping.
- Soft: Active listening, clear communication, relationship building, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
