About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced
Technical Writer to support a large-scale, fast-paced technical program. The Technical Writer will partner closely with engineering and project teams to create, edit, and publish high-quality documentation. This includes designs, installation guides, configuration instructions, runbooks/playbooks, and other technical artifacts.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, excellent writing/editing skills, and the ability to work within documentation standards while managing a high volume of content under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, edit, and format technical documentation using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and similar tools.
- Review draft content provided by technical teams and align documents with standard templates when available.
- Create new documentation templates as needed to support consistency across the program.
- Apply best practices for grammar, structure, readability, and technical clarity.
- Manage document version control and maintain files in required repositories (e.g., SharePoint).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify content, gather updates, and ensure technical accuracy.
- Provide updated documents to content owners for review and approval.
- Publish finalized, approved documentation following Project Manager direction and project procedures.
- Support a large enterprise initiative with aggressive timelines and high documentation volume.
- Travel occasionally to the manufacturing site if requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Proven experience as a Technical Writer supporting IT or engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of Information Technology systems, allowing accurate interpretation of technical draft content.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and diagramming tools such as Visio.
- Experience managing documentation with version control in enterprise repositories.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to occasionally travel as needed.
- U.S. Citizenship required (project-specific clearance requirement).
