SAP FICO Lead / Project Manager

Position: SAP FICO Lead / PM
Location: Plymouth, MN (Onsite 1 2 days/week Need Local Candidates)

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Digital SAP Manager Finance to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP solutions as part of their Digital Transformation journey. This role will align SAP capabilities with business objectives across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Inventory Management, Logistics, and Distribution.

The selected candidate will work closely with the System Integrator (EY) on a Greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation under RISE with SAP Private Cloud. The client is not moving forward with Central Finance.

Key Responsibilities

<>SAP System Management

• Lead process design, configuration, build, testing, and integration of the SAP Finance workstream.
• Manage integrations with SAP modules including MM, SD, and PP.
• Oversee system upgrades, patches, and performance optimization.
• Ensure successful SAP implementation within project timelines and budget.

<>Project Leadership

• Drive the SAP Finance workstream and provide functional leadership.
• Conduct workshops and gather business requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance teams.
• Manage external consultants and implementation partners.

<>Business Process Optimization

• Analyze and improve financial processes through automation and standardization.
• Implement industry best practices for financial reporting, controlling, and compliance.
• Support long-term SAP Finance strategy and growth initiatives.

<>Manufacturing Finance

• Manage production costing, inventory accounting, and fixed asset accounting processes.
• Support cost center accounting and product/material costing.
• Work closely with plant controllers and operations teams.

<>Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary liaison between Finance, IT, Digital, and business stakeholders.
• Provide SAP S/4HANA functional expertise and solution recommendations.
• Deliver user training and drive adoption of SAP solutions.

<>Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements (JSOX, IFRS).
• Maintain process documentation and audit readiness.

Required Skills

• Strong SAP FICO experience with hands-on SAP FI Configuration.
• Experience leading SAP Finance workstreams.
• Testing and business process validation.
• Workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
• Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Treasury.
• Manufacturing Finance experience.
• Product Costing and Material Costing.
• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.

Preferred Skills

• RISE with SAP experience.
• Greenfield SAP implementation experience.
• Experience working with System Integrators (EY preferred).
