Staff ML Backend Engineer (Autonomous Systems)

Location: New York City (In-Person) The Mission: We are building the intelligence layer for autonomous manufacturing. By combining AI and robotics, we create smarter systems that allow industrial operations to scale production without increasing headcount. Our team brings deep expertise from the intersection of defense tech and high-performance machine learning.

The Role

This is a foundational role focused on building the backend infrastructure that powers ML pipelines for advanced robotics. You will work at the intersection of distributed systems and sensor data collection to enable the training and deployment of production models.

  Data Architecture: Own the end-to-end pipeline for robotics sensor data, making critical decisions on storage, processing, and high-frequency streaming.

  Infrastructure & Tooling: Build software for real-time analytics, monitoring, and visualization. Act as a research engineer to accelerate ML iteration cycles.

  System Ownership: Design scalable distributed systems and make key "build vs. buy" decisions for our core infrastructure.

  High-Stakes Deployment: Bridge the gap between ML frameworks and hardware-software integration in a production environment.

  
  

Technical Profile

  7+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in backend engineering and building scalable distributed systems.

  Language Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, Rust, or C++.

  ML Infrastructure: Specific experience building infrastructure for video and sensor data.
