Frankfort, Kentucky. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills, while maintaining a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that fully address business requirements.
Core Responsibilities
The IT Business Analyst (BA) will support the Project Manager (PM) in managing project activities by facilitating communication among business units, project teams, and stakeholders regarding requirements and proposed solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Elicit and document business requirements, features, and user stories.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog.
- Decompose user stories into developer-ready work items for upcoming sprints.
- Define and document acceptance criteria.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements.
- Support Agile development methodologies and project lifecycle processes.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Develop and maintain testing plans.
- Create process flows, data models, mockups, and other project artifacts as needed.
- Assist with project estimation, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Support post-implementation issue triage and ongoing business needs.
- Manage stakeholder expectations regarding project objectives and timelines.
- Identify gaps in business and data requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful implementation of requirements.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process and system improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Education- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience- 2 to 3 years of experience working with business stakeholders to identify, document, and facilitate IT solutions.
- Experience gathering, defining, validating, and managing requirements.
- Experience working within Agile environments.
Technical & Professional Skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Business process analysis and improvement experience.
- Experience with user stories, backlog management, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to business needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
Communication Skills- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions to fully understand requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile

- 3+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- Experience supporting Agile software development teams.
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
- Process improvement and workflow analysis experience.
- Experience working with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Government, transportation, or large enterprise experience preferred.
