Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead backlog management and help drive the delivery of enterprise technology solutions in an Agile environment. This individual will serve as the connection between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and priorities.

The role requires strong backlog ownership, stakeholder management, Agile delivery experience, and the ability to use product and delivery metrics to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog, prioritizing work based on business value, product goals, dependencies, and delivery needs.

  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done.

  • Lead or participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Work closely with development teams to clarify requirements, address blockers, and maintain delivery momentum.

  • Support testing and validation to ensure completed work meets requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day connection between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, gather feedback, manage competing priorities, and communicate product and sprint progress.

  • Maintain a near-term product roadmap aligned with broader product direction and business objectives.

  • Use stakeholder feedback, user insights, and relevant market information to inform product improvements and backlog priorities.

  • Track delivery metrics such as velocity, acceptance rates, and sprint goal achievement to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain product documentation covering requirements, features, user stories, priorities, and key decisions.

  • Escalate product, delivery, or prioritization issues to appropriate leadership when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable relevant experience.

  • Significant hands-on experience working as a Product Owner in Agile delivery environments, ideally supporting complex enterprise or large-scale technology initiatives.

  • Strong experience managing and prioritizing complex, multi-stakeholder product backlogs.

  • Advanced knowledge of user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, dependency management, and near-term roadmap planning.

  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe in multi-team delivery environments.

  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) or comparable backlog, sprint management, and reporting tools.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate workshops and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience using product and delivery metrics to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.

  • Strong product requirements analysis, product lifecycle management, communication, and influencing skills.

Certification Requirements

Candidates should hold a recognized Agile Product Owner certification, such as:

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)

Advanced certifications such as SAFe Advanced Product Manager, SAFe DevOps Practitioner, or SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) are a plus.
