Summary



Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Principal Technologist specializing in Financial Operations and Governance across multiple cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform. This critical role in ensuring the organization maximizes the value of its cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. This position partners closely with Development Teams, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Solutions, Finance, and Leadership teams to drive financial accountability, optimize cloud usage, and strengthen governance across a multi?cloud environment.



  • Develop and execute FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including continuous monitoring, analysis of usage patterns, and identification of cost?efficiency opportunities.

  • Investigate and respond to cloud cost anomalies, collaborating with Cloud Solutions and Application teams to mitigate financial risk and prevent recurrence.

  • Contribute to the design, enhancement, and enforcement of cloud governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry best practices.

  • Support the management of cloud financial reporting processes, including cost allocation, show?back and chargeback models, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Partner with cross?functional teams to uncover cost?saving opportunities, improve asset management practices, and enhance overall cloud resource utilization.

  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders at all levels on cloud cost optimization, financial governance, and best?practice cloud management.

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, FinOps methodologies, and industry trends to continuously improve organizational cloud financial operations.

  • Develop and implement FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including but not limited to monitoring and analyzing cloud usage patterns to identify areas for optimization

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred but not required

  • Experience with cloud management and FinOps tools (preferably Apptio and CloudAbility)

  • Must have a deep understanding of AWS & Azure Cloud resources and associated usage costs

  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and cost management strategies

  • Successful experience with managing multiple projects supporting multiple internal customers concurrently

  • Proven track record of implementing successful FinOps and governance initiatives.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of cloud financial management principles and FinOps practices, such as FinOps Framework.

  • Proficiency in analyzing complex cloud billing data and creating actionable insights

  • Experience in a large enterprise or multi-cloud environment
