Position: LabVantage LIMS Consultant (LabVantage / SoftMax)
Location: Indianapolis, IN Onsite
Duration: 1+ Year

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced LabVantage LIMS Consultant to support implementation, integration, migration, and ongoing optimization initiatives within laboratory environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a functional and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), collaborating with business stakeholders, laboratory teams, IT, and quality organizations to deliver compliant and scalable LabVantage solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

Implementation:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and laboratory requirements.
• Guide system configuration and solution design.
• Align LabVantage capabilities with operational, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Integration:

• Design and implement integrations between LabVantage and enterprise systems such as ERP, PLM, ELN, laboratory instruments, middleware, and third-party applications.
• Support API and web service-based communication between systems.

Data Migration:

• Plan, execute, and validate data migration activities.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, traceability, and regulatory compliance throughout migration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary LabVantage LIMS Functional SME throughout the project lifecycle.
• Gather, analyze, and document business, laboratory, and regulatory requirements.
• Design, develop, configure, and implement LabVantage LIMS solutions, including new modules, pages, workflows, and system enhancements.
• Perform instrument integrations and develop parsing scripts for automated data ingestion.
• Implement, configure, and support Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) modules.
• Manage and maintain master data configurations within the LIMS environment.
• Develop, enhance, and support calculations, workflows, and business rules.
• Design, develop, and customize Jasper Reports for reporting and analytics requirements.
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve defects in development and production environments.
• Support release management, deployment activities, and production rollouts.
• Design and implement integrations with SAP and other enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain API and web service integrations.
• Review, advise, and support data migration strategies and execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, validation teams, and technical resources to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
• Support user training, go-live readiness activities, hypercare support, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 8 10 years of hands-on experience with LabVantage LIMS implementation, enhancements, upgrades, and support.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Healthcare environments.
• Experience with system configuration, validation processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Quality, IT, Laboratory Operations, Validation, and Business teams.
• Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business analysis, scope management, and solution architecture.
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience designing and implementing system integrations.
• Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience participating in multiple LabVantage implementation, upgrade, or migration projects.
• Hands-on experience integrating LIMS with ERP, CDS, ELN, laboratory instruments, and middleware platforms.
• Background in Quality Control (QC), Research & Development (R&D), or other laboratory operations.
• Experience working within regulated environments and supporting validation documentation.
