Role: Oracle Database Engineer / Oracle DBA

Duration: 12+ month contract opportunity

Location: 2 days onsite required weekly in New York, NY, Lake Mary, FL(Preferred) or Pittsburgh, PA

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience
• Strong, current experience with Oracle 12c/19c
• Hands-on with:
  • Active Data Guard
  • GoldenGate (preferred)
• Experience supporting large, enterprise-scale database environments
• Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting skills
• Infrastructure-focused DBA (not development-heavy)
• Able to lead, make decisions, and operate independently

Cloud Expectations

• Azure is preferred, but the manager is flexible on cloud platform (AWS/Google Cloud Platform acceptable).
• However, strong Oracle DBA fundamentals are non-negotiable.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Oracle 19c / 23ai Administration
• Expertise in Oracle Database Vault
• Experience with Active Data Guard & GoldenGate
• Proficiency in RMAN Backup & Recovery
• Strong knowledge of Azure Identity & Access Management
• Experience with Managed Identities (reducing local key usage)
• Azure monitoring/logging & integration with incident workflows
• Configuration baselines, resource tagging, asset/data inventory management

Nice-to-Have

• Integration with enterprise approval/ticketing systems
• Exposure to data classification/discovery tools
• Experience implementing CI/CD guardrails for secret management

Key Responsibilities

Identity & Access Management

• Provision, configure, and maintain Oracle Database 19c / 23ai environments
• Enforce Least Privilege Access using role-based access controls and security groups
• Manage privileged access using Oracle Database Vault
• Support governance of system DBA and application access controls
• Exposure to IBM Guardium database monitoring (preferred)

Backup, Restore & High Availability

• Develop and maintain secure Oracle baseline configurations (encryption at rest, auditing, threat detection, retention policies)
• Configure and optimize Active Data Guard with minimal replication lag
• Implement Oracle GoldenGate for active/active schema or table-level replication
• Perform backup/recovery using RMAN, logical exports/imports
• Support database restoration activities across environments

Controlled Maintenance & Compliance

• Plan and document patching, diagnostics, and repair activities
• Maintain remote maintenance records for audit readiness
• Implement secure media handling and sanitization practices
• Support compliance controls related to database operations

Monitoring & Audit Readiness

• Configure Azure-native monitoring and logging for database identity and operational events
• Tune alerts for service owners and security teams
• Support audit readiness for access governance and operational controls
