Description:
Role Title: Senior Structural Engineer - Transportation Design
Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Structural Engineer for our client, you'll lead structural design efforts on a variety of projects across Minnesota and nationally. You'll collaborate with public agencies and contractors on high-profile Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC), and traditional design projects.

Role Title: Senior Structural Engineer - Transportation Design

What You'll Do:
As a Senior Structural Engineer for our client, you'll lead structural design efforts on a variety of projects across Minnesota and nationally. You'll collaborate with public agencies and contractors on high-profile Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC), and traditional design projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently apply structural engineering principles and techniques
- Prepare scopes of work, proposals, and project budgets
- Develop preliminary and final bridge plans
- Create quantity calculations, cost estimates, and specifications
- Design minor structural elements (e.g., retaining walls, sign supports, drainage structures)
- Perform quality control reviews of designs and calculations
- Collaborate across disciplines (roadway, drainage, geotechnical, etc.)
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional growth
- Engage in business development activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis
- 10+ years of experience in bridge and transportation structure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, MIDAS, STAAD, Bentley OpenBridge Designer)
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads CAD software
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and MnDOT standards
- Proven experience in proposal writing and project planning
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
