Summary

Position: Interim Director, Epic Patient Access & Revenue Cycle Applications
Type: Long-term contract
Location: Remote

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Director to lead Epic Patient Access and Revenue Cycle applications. This role will drive strategy, implementation, and optimization of Epic systems supporting patient access, billing, reimbursement, and revenue integrity. The ideal candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and patient-focused revenue cycle operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee Epic Patient Access and Revenue Cycle application teams.
  • Provide strategic direction for applications supporting scheduling, registration, billing, claims, denials, and revenue integrity.
  • Manage the end-to-end system lifecycle including design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.
  • Develop application roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead large-scale implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Partner with IT leadership to prioritize initiatives and manage demand.
  • Oversee vendor integrations including Epic and third-party solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of healthcare IT experience in revenue cycle or patient access.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
  • Strong expertise in Epic Revenue Cycle and Patient Access applications.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle workflows.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Epic certifications (Prelude, Cadence, Resolute PB/HB, Grand Central, Tapestry).
  • Experience in academic or multi-hospital environments.
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-payer models.
  • Exposure to M&A integrations or Epic onboarding.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
