Salesforce Project Manager

Position: Salesforce Project Manager – Salesforce CRM Implementation

Duration: 6 months with extension Possible

Location: Remote, United States only. All access to State systems and data must be from within the Contiguous United States.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of a large Salesforce CRM implementation for the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. The role will manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, deliverables, stakeholder communication, and project governance.

This role must be fulfilled by the Prime Contractor. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through final system acceptance.
• Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan.
• Develop and maintain the MS Project schedule.
• Track deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
• Provide informal weekly progress updates and formal monthly project briefings to the State.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Salesforce developers, architects, business analysts, QA, data migration, training, and change management resources.
• Manage deliverable submission, review cycles, comment resolution, and approval process.
• Maintain strong communication with ITS, OCM, IPCS leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support Go/No-Go decisions for testing, deployment, and production releases.
• Ensure the project follows ITS project management standards, NYS Project Management Guidebook, and approved governance processes.
• Manage project risks related to timeline, staffing, deliverables, acceptance, testing, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Lead Project Manager.
• Experience managing IT projects in large enterprise environments.
• Experience delivering projects in regulated industries or public-sector environments.
• Strong experience with project schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, issue logs, and status reporting.
• Experience managing Salesforce CRM or similar enterprise application implementation projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification.
• Salesforce implementation project experience.
• Experience working with government agencies.
• Experience with Agile, waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
• Experience managing deliverable-based contracts.
