About the RoleOur client is seeking a
mid-level Network Administrator for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that blends
network administration and engineering in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is
customer-focused and business-facing, comfortable meeting directly with business users and plant stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical, scalable IT and network solutions. You'll work extensively with networking hardware and partner closely with Engineering, Facilities, and external vendors to support and expand enterprise and plant network infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork & Infrastructure Support- Provide Tier-2 support for complex LAN, WAN, WLAN, Voice, and security incidents, documenting root cause and resolution.
- Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
- Perform switchport configurations, VLANs, cutovers, and validation for office and manufacturing endpoints (laptops, printers, phones, plant equipment).
Engineering & Buildouts- Collaborate with Engineering and Facilities teams to design and build MDF/IDF telecom rooms, ensuring standards for racks, power, UPS, grounding, cabling pathways, and environmental controls.
- Coordinate with electrical and cabling vendors on fiber and copper installations, including routing, termination, testing, labeling, and as-built documentation.
- Interpret engineering and facility drawings to translate requirements into executable network and cabling plans.
Wireless, Telephony & Paging- Support wireless network deployments, including site surveys, access point placement, installation, and performance validation in high-noise manufacturing environments.
- Administer enterprise telephony platforms, including Cisco CUCM and Microsoft Teams Phone, handling provisioning, moves/adds/changes, and basic call routing.
- Partner with AV and wireless teams to design and deploy paging systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
Operations & Collaboration- Maintain accurate network documentation and follow established change management processes.
- Support IT/OT environments, including exposure to industrial networking concepts such as PLCs, AGVs/AMRs, and Level 2/Level 3 segmentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to deliver reliable network solutions.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of network administration and deployment experience
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (routers, switches, wireless)
- Experience with:
- MDF/IDF buildouts and structured cabling projects
- Copper and fiber cabling standards, labeling, testing, and documentation
- Vendor-led network and telecom installations
- Cisco CUCM and/or Microsoft Teams Phone
- Wireless site survey tools (e.g., Ekahau or similar)
- Paging systems in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret facility and engineering drawings
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and vendor management skills
- Customer-service mindset with the ability to interact confidently with business users and plant stakeholders
Preferred / Nice to Have- Exposure to OT and industrial networking environments
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms
- CCNA or CCNP (or equivalent experience)

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
