Data Center Logistics & Operations Technician (Entry-Level)

Location: Southern San Francisco Bay Area
Schedule: Alternating 36-hour and 48-hour workweeks
Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Data Center Logistics & Operations Technician to support warehouse, inventory, and data center operations. This role combines logistics responsibilities with hands-on technical support, ensuring accurate inventory management, asset tracking, hardware maintenance, and compliance with security procedures.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in gaining experience in data center operations, logistics, warehouse management, and IT infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct spare parts cycle count audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Provide warehouse and logistics support, including shipping and receiving activities.
  • Reconcile inventory and perform physical audits of storage media and Data Bearing Devices (DBDs).
  • Update, track, and audit equipment assets and inventory records.
  • Perform basic server repairs on discrete and rack-mounted hardware by following established procedures.
  • Clean and maintain fiber optic connections.
  • Assist with Middle of Rack (MOR) buildouts and infrastructure projects.
  • Shred data-bearing devices in accordance with security and compliance requirements.
  • Support overall data center operational and inventory management initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, or data center environments is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately track and reconcile inventory.
  • Proficient working with computer hardware and following technical procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment as required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a compressed, alternating schedule.

Work Schedule

Alternating Weekly Schedule (36 Hours / 48 Hours):
  • Every Other Wednesday: 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Thursday: 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Friday: 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Saturday: 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM
