ABOUT THE ROLE
----------------------------------------------------------------

StaffRight Associates is partnering with a premier technology organization to place a Data Architect into a high-impact, direct hire position. This is a hands-on architecture role — not a purely advisory one. You will design enterprise-scale data systems AND contribute to their implementation alongside engineering teams.

If you have grown from a strong development background into architecture and want to stay close to the work, this role is built for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT YOU''LL DO
----------------------------------------------------------------

- Design and maintain enterprise data architecture aligned with business objectives, IT strategy, and operational needs
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting enterprise applications, analytics platforms, and data warehouse / lakehouse environments
- Architect and guide the implementation of scalable data pipelines, integration frameworks, and lakehouse solutions
- Establish and promote data architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization
- Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies, cloud platforms, and data tools to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
- Partner with application, cloud, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure cohesive system and data design
- Collaborate with governance and security teams on metadata management, lineage tracking, master data management (MDM), and data quality
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical data solutions and provide architectural oversight through development, testing, and deployment
- Conduct architecture reviews, audits, and refactoring initiatives to continuously improve the health and maturity of the data ecosystem
- Optimize database and platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across cloud and on-prem environments
- Coach and mentor development teams on integration best practices, design patterns, and architectural decisions

----------------------------------------------------------------
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
----------------------------------------------------------------

- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with progression into architecture or technical leadership
- Strong programming skills — this role includes both architecture and active development
- Deep expertise in SQL and NoSQL database technologies and modern data storage architectures
- Proven experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration frameworks
- Strong knowledge of data lake and data warehouse architectures, including modern lakehouse patterns
- Hands-on experience designing solutions on cloud data platforms, preferably within the Azure ecosystem
- Experience with real-time data streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
- Deep understanding of data integration patterns, methodologies, and best practices at enterprise scale
- Experience integrating with multiple enterprise systems, APIs, and data sources with security and scalability in mind
- Solid knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage tracking, and data quality frameworks
- Understanding of AI/ML data pipelines and feature store architectures supporting advanced analytics and machine learning
- Deep understanding of data modeling methodologies and experience using data modeling and diagramming tools
- Strong communication skills — ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship (required for federal contract)

----------------------------------------------------------------
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
----------------------------------------------------------------

- Familiarity with modern data and analytics platforms: Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery, or Cosmos DB
- C# / .NET development background
- Azure Data Engineer or Azure Data Architect certification
- Experience working with cross-functional teams across engineering, analytics, and business functions
