Hybrid 3 days/week in San Rafael, CA

Our client is seeking a Trinium Transportation Management System Consultant/Specialist to lead implementation, configuration, stabilization, and optimization activities across transportation and logistics operations. The role will connect operations, business stakeholders, IT, and the Trinium vendor to ensure reliable data, effective integrations, and scalable processes. The consultant will provide hands-on TMS expertise, business analysis, configuration, testing, training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Experience with Truck Mate TMS is a plus.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business units to understand transportation, drayage, dispatch, equipment, billing, customer service, and reporting needs. Document objectives, pain points, requirements, and desired outcomes.
  • Support Trinium implementation and onboarding including discovery, fit-gap, configuration, data preparation, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
  • Configure and maintain Trinium workflows, master/reference data, user roles, operational parameters, business rules, and system settings per approved requirements and vendor guidance.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, configuration requests, process maps, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate integrations between Trinium and enterprise systems including EDI, APIs, financials, customer/carrier interfaces, and reporting platforms.
  • Investigate transaction and interface failures, data discrepancies, workflow exceptions, and defects. Identify root causes, coordinate fixes, and validate results.
  • Configure Dynamic SQL within Trinium as needed.
  • Use SQL and reporting tools to investigate data issues, reconcile outputs, validate conversions, and support operational analysis.
  • Develop and execute test plans for configuration changes, integrations, enhancements, and releases. Coordinate UAT and manage defects through resolution.
  • Provide production support, triage incidents, document resolutions, monitor recurring issues, and escalate to Trinium or other vendors when appropriate.
  • Maintain system documentation, operating procedures, configuration records, support guides, training materials, and knowledge articles.
  • Deliver role-based training and coaching for end users, support standardized processes, and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, Product Solutions, IT Development, business teams, and vendor resources to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and milestones.
  • Support reporting and KPIs related to transportation execution, dispatch, equipment utilization, service performance, billing, and productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and increase value from Trinium.
  • Support release planning, change control, business continuity considerations, and post-release validation to minimize disruption.

Experience Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, administering, or supporting Trinium TMS. Direct Trinium experience is preferred.
  • Background in transportation, drayage, intermodal, trucking, container, or logistics operations.
  • Experience with EDI transactions, API integrations, data mapping, and interface monitoring. Familiarity with ANSI X12 204, 214, 990, and 210 is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and convert them into configurations, documentation, and test cases.
  • Experience with system testing, UAT, issue tracking, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including tracing data and investigating operational or system discrepancies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with business users and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining clear documentation and follow-through.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Relevant TMS implementation or support experience is expected, with direct Trinium experience highly desirable.
